Fashion Background

Rosa Benedit textile creations are collections that address the rich natural combination of unexpected colours and strong graphic style. Inspirations include anachronistic flower prints, graphic fern leaves reminiscent of Art nouveau, as well as flowers and fruits of subtle assorted colours, tweeds with pictorial patters and complex geometric forms.

In her atelier-residence in Buenos Aires, where the designer lives with her daughters, Emma and Violeta, the textiles are applied to a diverse range of forms including dresses, suits, trousers, jackets, kimonos, revised safari jackets and bomber jackets. Her collections are timeless and are classified according to the textures for summer or for winter.

Patterns construction are an inherent part of her work which she keeps avidly archived in her workshop. Dresses in every shape – with plunging necklines in the back or with bows at the waist – are the common thread throughout the collections. Rosa Benedit explains that she “thinks of dresses as the perfect piece of clothing that is feminine par excellence”.
